[review]
The key to Peace debut album is that they took inspiration from old good rock – especially the 90s- and refreshed it, making it very unique and enjoyable. From the more “poppish” Wraith and Bloodshake to the sweetness of 60s flower power California Daze – slightly reminding of some Blur, the grungy, Nirvana-like sound of Scumbag, and the 80s sound of Drain, the album is one of those CDs it’s a joy to wrap you ears around. The use of electric guitars and percussions here proves Peace know how to play and even though they didn’t reinvent the concept of rock or rock bands, they remind us why it’s important to go back to basics. The living proof that England is still homeland to many interesting new acts. I foresee an amazingly bright future for these boys from Birmingham. No wonder they were nominated for the BBC Sound of the 2013.
