CD Review: Kveikur by Sigur Ros

[review]

The brand new album by the Icelandic band takes us back to their best works. After the worldwide acclaimed Ágætis Byrjun – universally branded as one of the best albums of all time – Kveikur might still be one of the best albums Sigur Ros have ever released. The trademark bowed guitars, Jonsi Birgisson’s light falsetto and the classical elements make you want to listen to the CD again and again. Special kudos to the title track, the opening track Brennisteinn and the closing Var, over 15 minutes of amazing, unmissable ethereal music.
