Steve Hackett’s been accused more than often of touring the world with a “cover band” of Genesis. Without indulging into useless polemics about whether one musician is free to do whatever he wants with songs that, after all, he co-owns, one thing is for sure: Hackett is true to the music and still enjoys playing his beloved guitars. For those who were not young or close enough to witness a live show by Genesis, having the chance to listen to classic masterpieces like Firth of Fifth played live by one of the originals is still an unmissable chance.

Hackett delivered a 3 hour show split into 2 sections, where the first half saw a selection of his solo works, including the latest Wolflight, celebrating “Voyage of the Acolyte” 40th anniversary.
The Genesis era came in the second half, surprisingly with songs that hadn’t been played during Hackett’s latest tours, like ‘Get ’em Out By Friday’ or ‘The Cinema Show’.
Granting the audience an outstanding compilation of concentrated nostalgia and authoritative musicianship, the show was entertaining and musically mesmerising.
